The album follows a broken soul through pain and despair. Lost and trapped in a swamp of misery, he loses more and more of himself. But he realizes this is not the end. He escapes. His journey in the outskirts of medieval Amersfoort takes him through exorcistic rituals and burning villages. He finds companionship that offers him hope and vengeance offers him purpose. He claims the revenge, but at what cost? It confronts him who he is becoming. Can he still follow the light, or will the darkness he has overcome be a part of him

On December 17, internationally, Void Wanderer Productions is proud to present Veenlijk’s debut album Waar Alle Hoop Verzuipt.

Veenlijk was formed in 2023 by Posthumus (vocals & guitar) and Mortiz (bass). Initially they aimed at creating black metal with thrash and speed metal inspired riffs. However, with the addition of Ballantine (drums) and Fako (guitar), originating from the punk and post-hardcore scenes, the unique sound of Veenlijk was created.

After playing their first shows in 2024, their first EP titled ‘Galgenberg’ was recorded that same year with Hans Pieters (The People’s Noise).

Even after the departure of guitarist Fako in the spring of 26, Veenlijk continues to push the sonic boundaries of black metal, with riffs inspired by punk, atmospheric post-hardcore, thrash and speed metal. Drawing inspiration for their lyrics from old Dutch folk- tales and the struggles of life and death.

Previous Veenlijk DEMO EP GALGENBERG was rereleased last december on CD, we have a handfull left.
